Servicing schedule that suits an Audi

Audi offers fixed or flexible regimes; for London cars we recommend fixed annual servicing. The 1.4, 1.5 and 2.0 TFSI engines run timing belts or chains depending on year: belts have hard replacement dates, typically five years, and chains want clean oil, so know which your car has, and we can tell you in seconds. S tronic gearboxes need their fluid every 38,000 miles, the same DSG rule as the rest of the VW group, and it is the service history line most often missing on used cars.

London driving and your Audi

Earlier TFSI engines like a bit of oil, so check the level monthly rather than trusting the sensor. TDIs in town need their DPF motorway run. Big-wheel S line cars feel every pothole: bushes, drop links and rim damage are the local wear pattern, and uneven inner tyre wear usually means tracking has been knocked out by a kerb or crater.

Buying a used Audi?

Cambelt invoice, S tronic fluid invoice, and the MOT history: those three documents tell you nearly everything. Oil consumption on 2010-2016 TFSI engines deserves a direct question and ideally a dipstick check a week after a test drive top-up.

What it costs to run

Parts share VW-group pricing, so independent maintenance is reasonable: the £70 MOT + Service package annually, a belt or gearbox service every few years by schedule, and consumables. The dealership badge premium is optional; the engineering underneath is happily ordinary to look after.
